Solar Panels – how do they work?

Solar panels are made of photovoltaic cells that convert sunlight to direct current electricity. As long as sun rays are hitting your roof, rain or shine, your panels are converting solar radiation into DC electricity.

Inverter

The inverter takes the DC electricity produced by your solar panels and turns it into alternating current electricity.

Main Electric Service Panel

Solar electricity flows from the inverter to the electrical panel, then into your home where it powers lights and appliances.

Net Meter

If you generate more solar energy than you use, it flows into the utility grid. The net meter measures electricity drawn from and sent to the grid.

Design and Install

After signing your Solarida Agreement and financing agreements, you’re ready for solar installation. We take care of scheduling, permits, city coordination, and securing the panels to your roof.

Site Assessment

The first step is to speak to one of our energy specialists to see if solar is right for you. Call, fill out a contact form or stop at our office to begin the process.

Design Approval

An on-site visit is necessary to ensure every variable is accounted for prior your solar installation’s design. A thorough site evaluation is critical for successful design.

Permitting

Our engineers will analyze the data collected from the site visit and drawings to design a solar system that maximizes energy output and efficiency.

Installation

Once we obtain the necessary permits, our highly-trained solar technicians will install your system. We’re not done until you are absolutely satisfied.

City/County Inspections

Once your installation is complete, you can look forward to lower energy costs. Your system will run with little to no maintenance and is under a limited lifetime warranty.

Utility Interconnection

We submit your documents to the utility company and they install a net meter. Timing: 2–4 weeks.

Power Up and Start Saving

When the utility grants Permission to Operate, flip the switch and start generating clean energy.
